Stilson Snow
Formerly the Lead Business Advisor at the North Coast SBDC, Stilson Snow has over forty years of diverse experience in a variety of fields. He has worked in major corporations, small companies, and has owned several of his own businesses. Reflecting his wide areas of interest, Stilson worked as a stock broker for a major NYSE firm in Los Angeles, was an award-winning sales professional with Burroughs Corporation in Honolulu, and was general manager of a chain of retail wine and spirit shops. He also worked in condominium property management, leading a team that submitted major successful proposals to the Resolution Trust Corporation. He was CFO then CEO of a leading medical clinic on the North Coast before negotiating its sale to a hospital chain.
Among his own businesses have been a management consulting firm and an educational film production and distribution company speciliazing in medical subjects. He also was on the leading edge of the very first wave of video rental businesses and has had a flight instruction/charter flying business. Stilson has been a professional writer and editor, penning a weekly newspaper column as well as feature magazine articles.
His education includes a BA from Occidental College and an MA from the University of Hawaii. He holds a Commercial Pilot license with single and multi-engine ratings, and a Flight Instructor Airplane/Instrument Certificate.
Stilson has generational ties to the North Coast: for many years starting in the 1880's his uncles owned a dry goods store in Eureka at the corner of Second and E. He moved to Humboldt in 1991. In his spare time he enjoys photography and writing novels.

Barbara Zoellner

That's Barbara's approach with her diverse assortment of clients. Barbara is a Small Business Consultant and QuickBooks ProAdvisor specializing in trouble-shooting existing businesses and non-profit entities. Assisting established businesses in optimizing their profit return is a strong emphasis of her consulting practice. She also works with new business start-ups to ensure that bookkeeping systems give owners reliable information with which to make management decisions, and she works to train management and staff in the maintenance of those systems.
Barbara's educational background is in information systems and computer science. She received her Master's degree from Kansas State University in 1984. Prior to that, she attended cooking school in Portland, Oregon. In addition to teaching at Kansas State and Northern Arizona University, she also owned and managed an imported cheese and coffee store. She moved to the North Coast with her husband and two children in 1998, and in 2000 she and Kate Chadwick opened Hurricane Kate's in Old Town Eureka. In 2004, Barbara decided that her interests were in assisting the diverse North Coast business and non-profit communities to optimize their business systems while giving her an opportunity to learn about the fascinating nature of these assorted endeavors.
