Crescent City Food Service Flight
North Coast Small Business Development Center is launching a training assistance program in Crescent City for businesses that are looking to improve their business acumen and to increase the success of their enterprises.
The Food Service Flight will assist people who are in business or want to start a food service business such as a restaurant, bakery, cafe, coffee shop, food truck, catering business, food vendor stand/booth or other similar food service enterprise.
This is an opportunity for business owners to participate in a free, intensive business training, mentorship, and resource development program.
Participants must be the business owner of a business that has a total of 5 or fewer employees and owners. If you are not currently in business you are welcome to apply.
The Food Service Flight is a program of the North Coast Small Business Resource Center and is intended to assist low-income clients. Income qualification is part of the application process. This program is funded by the City of Crescent City through the Community Development Block Grant, Micro-Enterprise Fund.
Individuals enrolled in the program will complete the following program
- Attend monthly business counseling sessions with an assigned business advisor
- Create/update your business plan
- Attend financial literacy training
- Attend 7-10 flight workshops with other food service businesses
- Attend 5 Business Basics Workshops (if not already completed)
- Participation in group meetings and networking
This program will prepare you to run a successful food service business by providing you with skills in:
- Business planning
- Financial planning
- Food costing
- Regulatory considerations
- Hiring and managing employees
- Enhancing the customer experience

Please complete the Flight Application for Participation. Please complete the Income Certification and submit it with your application.
All applicants will participate in an intake interview to determine business readiness and eligibility for the program.
If you join the program late you will be provided with the handouts from the previous workshops.
